The City of San Diego's Tenant Protection Ordinance

The Tenant Protection Ordinance was signed into law on May 25th, 2023, and went into effect on June 24th, 2023. A copy can be read and downloaded here. The ordinance provides additional protections for tenants, including financial assistance when a tenant's lease is terminated through no fault of their own, and accountability measures added to ensure that landlords do not get away with violating a tenant's rights.
